Wood Boats

Many antique boats are wood. Hulls, spars, stands wheels and more. During the war in the 1940’s metal was scarce and wood toys were king. Boats before that were mostly wood. The Keystone military ships are a good example. Many boats survived but are missing parts and some of these can be sourced at Collecting Keystone on the web. Sail boats and others with wood hulls can be restored with a little sandpaper, paint and shellac. Also we are able to repair some damage to hulls with wood inserts or fiberglass so don’t give up on old wood toys Sails, spars, masts and rigging string are easily available.
